Oh the weather these days... It has been fluctuating back-and-forth between warm and not-so-warm, as it tends to do in springtime, and I've had enough of it! I'm ready for some heat gosh dang it! Unfortunately, there's not much I can do to talk Mother Nature into deciding it's ready to be summer so instead I've been soothing  my hot-weather cravings with these babies right up here. These 6 items are all on my wishlist for summer and I can't wait till it's warm enough so I can put them to use! I'm especially excited about that camera bag. It's perfect no?

So if you actually scrolled through that massive dumping of photos I just posted and actually got to this point, I'm proud of you. Truly I am. This past week, has been amazing. And when you have amazing weeks you've got to write about them, right? Well, it's been the funnest I've had in a minute and I just want to gush about it. 

My friends and I decided it was time to take a break and relax in warmer weather, it being Spring Break and all. So we packed our bags and all headed to St. George, Utah for the week. I have been craving 70 degree weather for the longest time so it was just what the doctor ordered. We spent our days eating, hiking, exploring, tanning, swimming, and sleeping. So basically just having an awesome time and not even thinking about anything that was remotely stressful or unfun. When on vacation it is against the rules to think about anything other than having the best time of your life. So that is just what we did.

Also, why has nobody ever told me Zion's National Park is the coolest, prettiest place ever? Like, I live in the same state as this amazing place and no one ever bothered to tell me that I was an idiot for never going. Well until my pal Joshua did. He smacked me upside the head and was all like, you crazy! Get your act together! So I did, and we adventured to Zion's, Zion's and I fell in love, the end. I'm going back like 50 more times before I die and exploring that entire place. So many times while I was there I just was in awe. I was in amazement that places like this are real. They aren't stuff of paintings and fairytales. They aren't photoshopped or retouched, they're really just THAT beautiful. If places like that don't convince you that God exists, I don't know what will. 

I also made friends with some cows in the little town of Grafton. Animals know when you're taking pictures of them I'm convinced. That cow is posing for me I'm telling you! I really wanted to hop the fence hug him because he was so cute but he probably would of trampled me so I thought twice. I still love him though. (I have a problem with loving every animal I see, sue me).

Needless to say, I'm terribly sad that I'm home. I'm dreading having to go back to school and work tomorrow and having to face real life. And also having to figure out my life for the summer... which basically means locking myself in a room and applying for internship after internship. Please pray for my soul that I won't go crazy! But hey, I guess we have to do the not so fun stuff sometimes so the fun stuff is that much sweeter, right? 

ME + DONUTS 5EVER

If I could be best friends with any food, I'd be best friends with a donut. Because they are just delicious and have never done me wrong. Donuts and I will be in love 5ever. Cause 5ever is longer than 4ever, you know.

These particular donuts are from the cutest little shop called Beyond Glaze. I'm obsessed with them and I'm sure I'll be back at least 50 times before the month is up. Bikini body?? Ehh I think donuts taste better than skinny feels but idk. I'm biased probably.

MUSIC IS GOOD FOR THE SOUL

When I find good music I can't help but want to tell everyone about it. So, today's post is dedicated to sharing one of my new faves: Noah Gundersen. If you have never listened to him, today is the day that you rectify your mistake. He is a genius and I can't stop listening to him. His new album "Ledges" just came out a couple weeks ago and it's basically all I listen to these days, so I just couldn't resist sharing his musical genius with the world (aka my 40 followers lol). This song is the first on the album, but seriously, go listen to the whole thing, it'll blow your mind. Alright I'm done gushing now. The end.

THE MONTH OF LOVE

Yes, yes I know, Valentine's Day was a week ago and I'm a bit late on this post. But hey, I like to think of February as just the Month of Love, so I'm still good, right? And I was in St. George over Valentine's weekend so I have an excuse (ha). I've always loved Valentine's Day. Even when I've been single in the past. Because it's just a day to show the people we love that we love them, even if it isn't a significant other.

February 2014 has been one of the most magical months of my life; it really has been quite lovely. I finally started working again, which hey, doesn't really add to the "magic" per-say… but a girl's gotta pay the bills am I right?! And it feels good to be doing something productive with my time rather than just watch endless amounts of Netflix everyday haha. Other than that, life is just happy and I find myself waking up smiling from ear to ear every single day. It's just wonderful when life goes like that isn't it? It's such a nice feeling to have, to feel like I'm finding my place in life after these past few months of feeling so lost after returning from London. I feel like I'm on way to figuring out where I'm going, and that feels real good.

A GOOD LONG WEEKEND

 

 We went to an event at the Air BnB and man, that place is adorable. How charming right? 

I love long weekends. But let's be real, who doesn't? My younger sister was traveling to Canada to visit  a good friend and I was feeling like I needed to travel somewhere too! While Provo, Utah is not as exciting as Vancouver, I did have a delightfully fun weekend. Friday evening, my friends Shannon and Hannah drove down to Provo to meet up with my friend Eliza for the first concert in the 8th Anniversary Concert Series at the Velour. We came to see one of our favorite local bands, The National Parks. They were absolutely amazing live! I discovered them a few weeks ago and I cannot stop listening to them.

Saturday we slept in and took our sweet time getting ready, then headed up  to Park City to meet some pals at the Olympic Grand Prix Skiing Half-Pipe event. Let's just say I didn't wear appropriate shoes to hike up a snowy mountain and so was having some technical difficulties. Haha I had to be dragged up the hill because I couldn't stop slipping. Not one of my shining moments of gracefulness haha.

After a quick detour in Salt Lake on Sunday for some family stuff, we continued our mini-vacation by heading back up to Park City on Monday for the Sundance Film Festival. We wandered up and down main street, stopping in at events and keeping our eyes peeled for celebrities. We did end up seeing a few: Selena Gomez, David Cross (check out that creeper pic), Amber Tamblyn, the dad from High School Musical (lol), and Bon Jovi's bass guitarist (no I did not previously know that information, our waiter at Flanagan's conveniently told us he was sitting at the table next to us).

Shannon had a good friend who is a driver up at the festival this week and had some downtime to give us rides around. He was driving a big ol' black Yukon with tinted windows so….we had a brilliant idea. Why not spend the day making people think we were famous? So, this is how it would go: he would park on the side of the road and get people all excited, wondering who he was about to pick up. People would run over to his car and try to get him to tell them who he was waiting for. He would say it was confidential but, yes, they were definitely "famous". We'd wait a few minutes and then we'd walk down the street in our sunglasses and nonchalantly get in the car. Cue the screaming, "Oh my gosh! Who is that?? Who is that??!!", guys running over to try to take pictures through the window. Haha oh man it was thoroughly entertaining.
