FALL FALL FALL

Contrary to popular belief, I am still alive and I do still think about this little bloggy blog. The thing is, sometimes I wake up in the morning and I'm not even sure which way's up....let alone what day it is. Life this semester in school has been hectic (to say the least). And I have had quite a bit on my mind as of late that sometimes I sit down to write a post and I'm not even sure what to say! Trying to spare the Internet from as much word vomit/nonsense as possible (you're welcome). But life is good and happy because it's fall in Utah and there are few things better than that. Sometimes I look up at the colorful mountains and I just can't help but smile cause holy cow, neature is beautiful. 

I turn 22 in like 5 days and it's my golden birthday so that's pretty happy too. But also freaking out that it's possible that I'm that old because I feel like I am far too young to be 22. Life moves so fast am I right?? I swear two days ago I was 15 and had braces and was crying because I was pretty sure a boy would never kiss me. Lol not much has changed... ;)

RESOLUTION - MATT CORBY

So idk I suck at blogging lately. Mostly my days consist of me either being at work or school all day so things have been relatively unexciting over here. Oh I miss those carefree days of summer! But really, I'm pretty stoked about Fall and October...along with every other white girl on this planet. But hey, it's my birthday this month so I loved it before it was trendy (just sayin'). Well, here is a song I'm currently jammin' out to! I'll get around to doing a real blog post one of these days...until then, enjoy!

STARRY NIGHT

So apparently there was some huge solar flare over the weekend..that was supposed to allow us lil' guys in Utah to see some sweet aurora borealis' (that's fancy talk for Northern Lights). But let me tell you guys, this shiz was a big old disappointment (not really we still had a fun night, but for the sake of drama and such).

A bunch of my friends decided to hike up to the highest hill we could find up Big Cottonwood Canyon, figuring this would give us the best view for the spectacle that was supposed to take place. Guys, even though it's September and still pretty warm, these Utah mountains get prettay dang chilly at night. Like 40°F kinda chilly. And I was most definitely not prepared for these frigid temperatures, and neither were most of my pals. So it was shiver central on that mountain top. 

Although this whole adventure turned out to be a big bust, I still got that cool picture up there which I was pretty stoked about. And we did have some pretty good laughs as we usually do together. One day I'll get up to Iceland and see the REAL Northern Lights....

LATELY

So, sorry for the absence as of late! Life has been so insanely BUSY. I feel like I hardly have time to catch a breath. I'm not complaining though, life is better when it's busy I always say. I've started school, started a new internship and am working at the same time so basically I'm living 10-11 hour days of mostly being on the go, it's crazy! Ha in my free time though, if you know me, I'm seen quite often with a camera in my hand. Taking pictures is an odd kind of meditation for me. There's no where I'd rather be than up in the mountains with a camera in hand. Or really anywhere with a camera in hand...but hey you catch my drift. It's really only a hobby for me and that's all I really plan for it to be. But hey we'll see where the wind takes me! I sure love doing it.

Here's a photo I took a few nights ago when I was needing a little therapy. Can you believe that moon?? Holy cow nature is cool. I've been testing long exposure techniques recently, it's something  I haven't really done before. I love learning new things and trying out different editing tricks. Next on the list is to get some good star trail pictures. I'm a bit intimidated by the process but we'll see how they turn out! 

Now here's to another week of constant chaos and lots of diet coke to keep me going. Xoxo.

OBSESSED

Guys.....I'M OBSESSED WITH THIS SONG. I CAN'T STOP LISTENING. LIKE, YOU KNOW I LOVE IT CAUSE I CAN'T STOP TYPING IN ALL CAPS. Seriously people.. isn't music the most magical amazing thing ever? Music inspires me in everything (honestly I really mean everything) I do. It inspires my photography, my spirituality, and often times my friendships and relationships. If I had musical talent I would make music my life but alas (whenever I use 'alas' in a sentence I instantly feel like 50x smarter). Oh well I guess all these talented people need peeps like me to just appreciate their music. 

But really, can't wait until Vance Joy's album comes out in September. If the rest of his album is anything like this song I will be one happy camper. Okaythatsallbye.
